Dublin`s Dream!!

I`ve never imagined my self doing an exchange, but it eventually happend in 2012 when I went to the city of Dublin, Ireland for 6 month to improve my english and learn more about their culture as well.

As soon as I left Brasil I realized that would be one of the most important expiriences of my life. When I arrived in Dublin I moved to a host family`s house, in wich i lived for 2 of the total 6 months. The exchange of culture and information was incredible, i`ve learnd a lot and improved my english skills in just a few time.

I started to attend to english classes in the city center, from monday to friday for the entire 6 months I spended there. The school was really good and full of another exchange students like Koreans and Venezuelans, but especially, brazilians. Actually that is one of the bad facts about Ireland, the brazilians where everywhere in Dublin, from the school to the pubs, stores, restaurants... That of course made a lot more dificult to pratice my english skills. So, to make my studies even more effective, I used to attend to conversation exchanges in the library of a shopping near to my school. There a had the oportunitty to met lots of peopple from several countrys, like, japan, Mexico, spain, netherlands and many others.

After my second month living there, I moved from the host family`s house and rent a room for my own, i was excited with the idea of living by my self. In that period I were able to save more money, so I started to making travels, first around Ireland and than to another countries. The most memorable trip i went to was for sure Italy, especially Rome. As a History enthusiast tha I am, I was amazed with the experience, after visit all of those incredible museuns and had the oportunity to enter the coliseum, wich was one of my biggest dreams ever.

So after 6 months of amazing experiences, I left my dear Dublin and moved back to Brasil. But now with a hole new point of view about the world. I definitly intend to go back there one day, maybe even live there, and around the europe if i got the oportunitty.

A Poem about your exchange life

Cry of joy and happiness,
smile remembering the longing.
For anyone that would be wrong,
but the exchange student has changed directions.
Idolize country and family,
realize that lived in wonder,
give more value to ESSENCE.
Just some consequences of the experience.
Feel like a child or baby,
learn again to behave, talk and eat.
Be cause for laughter and jokes, but patience!
Because between two cultures, there is MUCH difference.
Exchange is an accelerator time
aging in the 30 years in a short time.
This time we wanted it to last forever,
but if both lasted, would not live intensely.

Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas

"How to start talking about my exchange? As talk of a year in life, or rather, of my life in a year? I'm already in the final stage, in another week, I'll be home, my dear and beloved Brazil. Speaking thus're looking like you really want to go back Breno huh? No, quite the contrary. This year was just the best year of my entire life. Every time I stop to think about it, look at pictures, and remember the whole experience, the thought that comes to mind is the feeling that everything was done, it was 100% perfect.

I'm living in trendy and very famous American city of Las Vegas, Nevada. But make no mistake, my exchange was not playing at the casino all the time. Las Vegas is much more than that; Las Vegas saw a few people know. This country is simply wonderful; is and will always be my second home. Unlike most exchange students who come to the United States, staying in small towns (population between 3 and 100 000 inhabitants), I ended up getting in a big city (Vegas has about 2 million people), and this was another reason that made my experience unique. My host family was the best I could have stayed. Besides the parents, I had a sister and a brother. Funny, very easy to deal with, attentive; simply the best. We laughed a lot, took me to meet many places, done many things together. They literally treated me like a son. I am eternally grateful for everything they did for me. The AFS hit the family choice (and as hit). The school was huge, 3,000 students played football and had many friends. They were the best and will also be marked forever in my memory. We did a lot together, they were awesome! Very caring teachers, created by friendships with some of them. I was not only in Vegas. Met the states of Utah, Arizona, California and the glamorous last but not least: the paradise of Hawaii, where I had the best trip of my life.

One german dream!

What can I say? I grew up dreaming with my exchange year. When I was 14 years old I decided to go to Canada but it didn't work. Then I started to look for a way to realize my exchange dream. Two years later I found AFS-American Field Service and I hosted an american girl who call Sylvia for 8 months, it was just amazing. I got to know her culture, her friends, her speak, her food... I can not explain how wonderful it was! When she went back to USA, it was my turn... My name is Lara and I had a German Dream!
I stayed for 11 months in Germany have knowing their culture, their costumes, their way of life... and it wasn't too easy. I had to learn how to speak german, I had to become a normal german girl... and I loved it! I miss Germany every day since I came back to Brazil. I miss my friends, my family, the weather, I miss Dönner Kebab SO MUCH!!! I don't have words to tell how important this experience was to me. I traveled a lot, I drank a lot, I met a lot of people for only one day (and these people became very important for me).

I'm so glad to had the opportunity to go to Germany, to get to know a lot of people, to learn my third language and to grow a lot as person. Germany, I love you so much!!! Deutschland, Ich habe dich so viel Lieb!!!
